Ibis is a sweet mare who enjoys being played with and brushed. She has good ground manners and knows how to pivot and back up in hand. She stands to be brushed, fly sprayed, or hosed off, she picks up her feet and trailers well. Ibis is not spooky, but she is cautious of new things. She is a very forward mare with a big motor. She currently walk, trots, canters, side passes, and pivots under saddle. She has not bucked, but she is sensitive. She has been out on the trails twice and seems to enjoy it. She has a very fast walk so she would be able to keep up with a gaited horse. She has a lot of grit and stamina so she needs someone who will work with her and not against her. She would excel in endurance, barrel racing, reining, or ranch versatility. I also think she could do well on cattle. I haven’t had the opportunity to work cattle with her, but I have seen her cut and track other horses so I think she would pick up on it naturally. She is a really nice mover and has an amazing stop. She is low horse in the herd pecking order, loves her food, and is a good eater. She halters and ties well. She knows how to lunge and round pen. Ibis goes over bridges and ground poles in-hand, and I have opened gates off her back. She has had her feet trimmed and her teeth floated. She saddles well, but I always cinch her slowly. I generally lunge her before I ride her as well. Ibis hate flies so she would appreciate a fly sheet. She seems to enjoy people and will come to the gate when I walk by. She has been ridden at a show, and while she was initially a little nervous, she settled down and rode quite well. Ibis is currently being fed Ultium by Purina and is on Excel EQ. She gets grass and alfalfa hay. This girl is going to be awesome once she gives her person her heart.
