DESCRIPTION: Approximate Height in Hands – 14hh

Montana Sky is 4-year-old mare from Stewart Creek, WY. She is 14 hands tall, very smart, athletic, and fast. She has gentle eyes, and when she is content, she has a little smile. She has curly hair in her tail and mane with colors varying from light blond to dark sorrel. She was a yearling when she was rounded up, so she is very friendly with humans. Her flight instincts were very high early in training. Through May and June, she did not take pressure very well. In June, I put the first few rides on her, but she was scared. She sweats heavily when in training. During the month of June, I did a lot of one-rein-stops because she was so scared. By mid-July, we were able to take calmer and confident rides inside the corral. My trainer, Joe Misner, trotted and loped her inside the corral. He also took her outside the corral and rode her around the horse facility. Now, when she spooks, she recovers faster and doesn't seem to want to run away. In-hand, she likes to jump over logs and loads in the trailer well. She doesn't push on the bit, and she is soft, lateral, and vertical. She does need more time in the saddle, because 100 days of training are not enough for her.
