DESCRIPTION: Approximate Height in Hands – 13.1hh
Mozart – “Mose” is 13.1 hands of personality. He is very social and will greet you as soon as he sees you. He is willing to try anything but is looking for a confident partner that will help him tackle challenges. He has never been reactive but was defensive and reserved in the beginning. He can be a little opinionated when he does not understand but readily follows clear directions. I focused his training on positive reinforcement and used targets to teach behaviors. I then transitioned the behaviors to more traditional ques. Mozart has worked at liberty and would be well suited for someone who would continue his positive reinforcement training and liberty work. He has great ground manners, is easy to be around, enjoys grooming, ties and bathes well, and has had several hoof trims. He has been well mannered around other horses and is comfortable with small farm animals. He has been pastured, is easy to catch, and is good with electric fences. He is good with fly spray but is still cautious and needs patience when spraying around his face. Mozart lunges on or off a lunge line at a walk, trot, or canter and is very responsive to body language and voice. He has done extensive ground driving. Mozart had a great fear of ropes. He has had extensive work with them, but sometimes has a moment of concern if a rope drags on the ground. He does not overreact but will hold still and eye them. He needs an understanding partner that will encourage him to think through issues like that. Mozart has been hauled multiple times, ridden in the pastures, with loose horses, off the property, in arenas, alone or with other horses. He enjoys trail riding. He has also been introduced to obstacles, has been ponied, and will pony another horse. Mozart has been under saddle since beginning of June and will walk, trot, canter, back, side pass, and turn on the hindquarter and forehand. He’s been started on lateral work. He rides bitless and is starting in a snaffle. He is soft, light, and responsive to seat and legs. Mozart has competed in Working Equitation Intro level (dressage and obstacles). Mozart is a willing partner but is still green and needs a confident, gentle partner to guide him on his journey. He has a calm nature and I believe he will be a steady, versatile horse once he gains more experience. Please see his Facebook page “Mozart – OK Extreme Mustang Makeover” for more information.
